Many of the B & B's and hotels in Trim, Howth and Dun Laoghire listed in the RS guide book have limited or no availability in mid-September and some appear to have closed. Any recommendations for these locations not listed?
Thanks!

Hi from Wisconsin,
You mention both Howth and Dun Laoghaire. They are on opposite ends of the DART transport system. Actually I think Greystones is the southern end and Malahide is the northern end. Near Greystones is Bray.
Bray is an old resort location right on the shore. It is not a bad place to set up shop for Dublin. The DART will take you along the coast (well close to it) all the way toMalahide and its castle. Being out of the city centers offers lower accommodation prices.
Once, and only once, I had 14 family members in Ireland and we stayed in two B&Bs in Bray. No a bad word was said a bout the location.

We stayed in Howth in May at Derwent Lodge. The owners, Margaret and Eugene, had just opened this B&B (we may have been some of their first guests) after selling their other B&B in another part of Dublin. A less than 5 minute walk to the bus line, right across the street from Harry Byrne's Pub, beautiful accommodations, and friendly and helpful hosts. Highly recommend this place!
