Hello! I’ve seen pictures online of Horse and Buggy rides on Inisheer Island. Does anyone know anything about these? Would you recommend taking a ride? Thanks for your advice!
Found this on an old Trip Advisor post:
"You can hire bikes on the island. You can also hire a jarvey ( jaunting car) for an hour . This way, your driver, will be able to tell you about the history of the island and the incredible hardships the population had to endure to live. ( I was particularly taken by the way they grow potatoes and vegetables considering there is little or no soil on the island). Our driver , Micheal Bán ( Bawn ) was brilliant. He spoke a little Irish, told us about the history, told us about clearing fields of rock with only a sledgehammer and crowbar ( you'll understand when you see the fields), let my kids drive the pony and trap and only charged 20 euro for the hour for 5 of us. "
At Inishmore the jaunting cars are lined up at the pier when the ferry arrives. Am assuming it works the same way on Inisheer, but you can do a Google search and see what comes up.
Thanks so much!
