If you plan to buy souvenirs, a Horizon card makes it easy to get your VAT tax back at the end of your trip.
They are free, and many merchants have them. You just take one on your first shopping visit. The merchant swipes it, and it records all your purchases during your whole trip. (Use it at every shop where you make a purchase.) It saves you from keeping track of your receipts, etc.
You could probably get more details online about how to declare your purchases at the end of your trip. Usually you make a stop at the airport before you go thru security.
