My wife and I want to get out of Dublin a bit during our visit in May, specifically to these places. We'll also be taking a day-trip to Glendalough, but that's another story. We'll be arriving early morning from London and will NOT have a car. What is the best way to get to these places from Dublin and how much should we expect to pay?
check out Irish Day tours they do a day tour 'Celtic Boyne Valley' which visits the places your are interested in. www.irishdaytours.ie
Thank you Judy! You just made our night!!
Looks like you want to use Dublin as your base and take day trips into the countryside. Trim is fun little town and you will need to be on a tour to get to the Hill of Tara. There's no public transportation to Tara. Seeing those two places in one day will consume all your time.
Glendalough is also a good choice for a day trip, especially in May.
Be prepared for rain every day, an umbrella and rain jack and hat are required.
Have fun.
