hiking the causeway coast way

Just now thinking about a June trip, having never been to Ireland. We're two 59 yr old healthy enough & experienced hikers who want some time out of the car/museum/pubs... SO has anyone hiked the trail? How far ahead should we find accommodations along the way? Any special "don't miss" villages? Thanks - Jon

I would start at the White Rocks, near Portrush, and then head east to Magheracross View, Dunluce Castle, Giant’s Causeway, Dunseverick Castle, Dunseverick Falls, Ballintoy Harbor, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and Kinbane Castle. This will entail about seven hours of walking, so you might want to break it up. We did this route in 2016, and it was one of our favorite jaunts during our entire 10 day trip.

Take a look here for maps, descriptions and general information on the various sections: http://www.causewaycoastway.com/
We hiked a couple of sections in either direction from Giant's Causeway a couple of years ago. Very scenic but very windy so be prepared. One interesting discovery was finding a little cove where the remains of one of the 1588 Armada ships was discovered. It's artifacts are on display at the Derry Museum.
