Hello
Am planning a trip this fall to Ireland, and want to spend 3 - 4 days on Dingle Penn. Am looking for a B&B or Inn that can help us with hiking trails nearby. We do have a car, so could drive to a trail head. Any Inn or B&B recos will be appreciated. Thanks so much
Deb
Can't help you with accommodations since it's been a few years since we were there, but I would mention the All Trails website as a great resource for previewing hikes in Ireland. We've always found their descriptions of the various trails, their degrees of difficulty, etc. to be quite accurate, and the reviews for each one were helpful too.
Might add that we were surprised at how boggy some of the trails were even if it hadn't rained in several days. We had waterproof boots so the conditions weren't an issue but that's one area where your host may be able to share some local knowledge before you set off.
And FWIW, we found hiking poles to be quite helpful in negotiating some of the slippery and uneven tracks.
Baywatch Inn, Tom was a great host. We stayed 3 nights in April. We hiked out to the light house. About a 2 hour round trip, walk from the Baywatch Inn. We took lots of pictures while walking and it was a Beautiful little hike.
Enjoy Dingle,
Tim
