Hiking Dingle

My husband and I will be staying in Dingle for 3 nights the end of May. What would be the signature 3-4 mile hike to take on the peninsula? It looks like the walk along the beach from Ventry to Slea Head is nice, I'm not sure of the distance. Also, what would be a good half day bike trip to view the area? Any input would be appreciated,
Thanks!

Inch Beach is about 30 minutes from Dingle town and is spectacular as well as the walk from Inch Beach to the small village of Annascaul. We spent three weeks in that area a couple of years ago in September and it was absolutely perfect! My concern about walking Slea Head is that I do not remember much of a shoulder for hikers, at least on the main road.

We had good luck using this website to preview day hikes during our last couple of trips:http://www.irishtrails.ie/trails.aspx?c=Kerry
Not sure there is a "signature hike" as you describe, but there are several hikes around the Dingle peninsula that are quite pretty. The website has good descriptions of each along with reviews.
If you have the time and interest, and want to get away from the tourist crush near Slea Head, I'd suggest looking at Glenteenassig (little glen of waterfalls) over near the village of Castlegregory on the other side of the peninsula. There are a couple of very nice lakeside walks there - great spots for a picnic too. The access road is rather narrow and is unpaved for the last few Km, but is good quality nevertheless with lots of places to pullover if meeting opposing traffic....of which there isn't a whole lot - it's pretty isolated.

If you go to Hannifin's Pub in Annascaul and talk to John the owner he can give you many suggestions. There is also a local group of hikers that meet on Sunday mornings and hike in a group based on the distance they are interested in walking. This was great fun and a wonderful way to meet some local folks.
