Hi! We'll be in Galway on my partner's birthday, and I'm trying to plan something special for him. We'll have our 1 year old with us. He's a very proud Irish descendant and especially loves the music and folklore. Are there any sights in or around Galway that are hidden gems that could provide a special memory for him? Thanks!
There is a medieval banquet in one of the castles about 20 minutes outside of Galway. I have read great things about it.
The name escapes me right now but if you Google castle banquet Galway, I am sure that it will come up.
It is Dunguaire banquet

Thanks for the suggestion! I checked and the tickets are already sold out. :(
I am now considering visiting some of the sights in the songs... The Fields of Athenry and the Salthill Prom. Does anyone know of interesting things to do in Athenry, or any other ideas for places in song that are worth seeing and that are in/around Galway?
I also thought we'd end with traditional music at one of the pubs. Any reviews on the Crane Bar, Monroe's, or a pub close to Eyre Square?
Thanks!
