Help with message on flight

I check the airlines every day to see the flights that I’ll be taking next month just to see if they are on time etc. A couple days ago this message popped up on the return trip, but I don’t understand what it means. Is there anyone here that has an idea what this message means?

US immigration update ods _ admin.spcl _ trmnl _ message set in Dublin

After you check in, you must clear US immigration commit; in Dublin airport before boarding. Make sure to present yourself to US immigration at least two hours before departure to make your flight.

Do you think this is something that was supposed to be printed?

Any help is appreciated.

I think this is a reminder that when you depart for the US from Dublin (as opposed to from Paris, Rome, etc.), you will clear US Immigration before the flight rather than after landing in the US. That may require extra time at the departure airport.

Poorly executed and in need of some basic edits, but I'm sure it's real and nothing to get worried over. Here, I'll fix that for you:

Subject: US immigration update - Dublin

As pointed out above, Dublin has US Customs Pre-clearance, so when departing from Dublin, you clear US customs before you board your flight, not after you arrive at your US airport of entry. Otherwise, it was just someone being sloppy with their keyboarding.

Typos happen. Play on, no worries.

Thank you for the information. I don’t think I’ve ever gone through customs before getting on a flight to the US, so that’s new information for me. I’m wondering why they just recently posted that note. Maybe too many people were missing their flights. Thanks for responding!

It’s US passport control and customs done in Dublin prior to flights to US.

Exactly what everyone upthread has said. You will clear immigration and customs at the Dublin airport before boarding for US flights. They also honored my Global Entry. Best experience I’ve had flying home from Europe, efficient and quick. We just flew home from Dublin in July.

I'd like to add that you will also go through a security check a second time at the US immigration area. Be prepared to take off your shoes, show your boarding pass, liquids in bags, etc. prior to immigration/passport review. Just make sure you add some extra time.
Enjoy Ireland!

And once you pass through the passport check, you are actually in the USA--you can't go back out of there. But when you land, you walk off the plane and leave directly, or as soon as you can get your bags if you have them.
