Please share places to stay for a couple of nights near the Antrim Coast in July. Our activities will be mainly hiking the coast. We do not need to stay anyplace with a seaside view, just would like a nice charming inn/hotel near a few restaurants within walking distance. We will have a car, so no need to worry about access from public transportation.
We stayed at The Marine in Ballycastle. It was clean and very nice. There were great walks around the harbor. We had a fun night at Finn Patrick's. It's close to Kinbane Castle - a great hike, it was a highlight of the causeway. The hotel clerk also gave us a tip not missing Billintoy Harbor, another highlight.
I'm thinking Ballycastle for my trip in May. Portrush sounds to me like a small Blackpool. I'd prefer a small working port town to a kitschy tourist place.
For hiking, have you looked at "the Gobbins" near there?
Have you considering staying at the Giants Causeway, there is a lovely hotel there.
I havent stayed there myself but have dined there in the bar, its lovely

I have the absolute best place to recommend. It was our favorite hotel of our entire trip.
The Bayview Hotel in Port Ballintrae. Rooms have a stunning view out over the Harbor and the ocean. Just a few minutes to Portrush, Bushmills, Giant’s Causeway, and Dunluce Castle.
