Hi going to Ireland in late April and have about 8 full days including the day I land (early in Dublin). Will be with my adult (21 yo ) son and will rent a car. We'd like to go visit where my family on moms side if from in Cashel/Bohlerhan in Tipperary, and saw others recommend drive thru Galway, Sligo, Derry and Belfast (I'd really like to see Belfast). Can anyone help with recommendations on where to stay and how much time we should dedicate to the drive? Driving time is no problem. Here is a crazy itinerary which seems like a lot, but would love thoughts on maybe where we can skip staying a night in one of the locations?
- Dublin thru Boherlan/Cashel (family heritage stop) to Ring of Kerry (Stay ROK area?)
- ROK to Galway (Stay in Galway
- Galway to Sligo (Stay in Sligo or make a stop and continue to Derry?)
- Sligo to Derry (Stay in Derry? or continue to Belfast?)
- Derry to Belfast (Stay Belfast 1 or 2 nights?)
- Back to Dublin
Doesn't give much time in Dublin/relaxing, but is this feasible? Thoughts?
Thank you for any insights!!! VERY much appreciated!
