Help with budget hotel chains in Ireland

In France we often stay at chain hotels like Ibis Budget and B&B Hotels.......

Are there similar chains in Ireland? Do you have recommendations. We are 3 travelers me (44), my husband who is (47) who has mobility issues and my mom who is 71.

We are coming from Canada and hope to make this journey in mid-October for 3 weeks.

Thank you for any and all advice.

Try googling "Accor hotels" in Ireland . Accor includes Ibis, Ibis Budget, Novotel, etc.

Hi -

Have you considered B&Bs as an alternative to impersonal hotel chains? Since they're in private homes, you'll meet the family, get more personal attention and enjoy a large hot or cold (your choice) breakfast, which is included in the price. Most have three to six rooms to rent.

Ireland has over 2,000 bed and breakfasts, with single and double rooms from 30 to 60 Euros a night. You can begin a search on the Irish Tourist Board (ITB) website, though you should book directly with the facilities themselves to avoid booking fees. ITB used to publish a wonderful and free B&B guidebook, but it looks like they've ceased that practice.

If you have an idea of the counties or towns in which you plan to overnight or visit, I can probably suggest some B&Bs I've enjoyed in my many travels all over the island.

Slainte!

We did try B&B's in the past but with my hubby's mobility issues we do much better in a chain hotel with handicap accessible rooms.

Travelodge has a decent presence across the Republic, Premier Inn seems to be better in Northern Ireland.

Also both tend to have a restaurant attached. In the Republic these tend to be an Irish version of an American fifties' diner.

I had a hot dog last time.

We used Travelodge several times in the UK. I was hesitant because I have not always been impressed with them here in the states. However we were very happy with them . You can usually read reviews on individual locations on Trip advisor. We have used Ibis Budget as well. If those work for you I think you will be happy with Travelodge. Premiere is nice but more expensive . However they do have good sales so it may be worth checking there web site regularly.

There is no corporate connection between the Travelodge chains in the USA and UK/Ireland. The name was acquired decades ago and that's about it.

Accor brand gets a plus. Well represented. Better than Holiday Inn Express.

Edit - yes saw your below - my thumbs up to Accor was in general, not Ireland specific - sorry.

Accor only shows one hotel in Dublin and the rest are in northern Ireland.

I like Best Westerns in Europe. Dublin will be the most expensive. Will you be staying in Dublin exclusively?

We are planning 21 days in total driving holiday. We probably will only be in Dublin 4-5 days.
