This is middle of trip. We are leaving Galway to cliffs of moher. Then driving all the way down to portmagee for one night for a Skellig landing next day. After tour we plan to finish ring of Kerry and stay in Killarney two nights. Next day want to do dingle and back to Killarney for night. This is where I need help. We would get up go to muckross house and spend a few hours there then to…. My plan was to hit blarney castle around 2 pm. Drive to kinsale see Charles fort and over night. Then get up drive to Cobh to see titanic then go old Middleton for distillery (I already asked for non alcoholic tour so I can drive) then rock of chashel for last tour the to Kilkenny for two nights. I guess I am unsure if we could fit in muckross house on same day as dingle or cliffs of moher ? Would it be better to drive to distillary and titanic in cobh then leave around 5 ish to kinsale or over night in cobh? Then hit kinsale for a few hours next day and hit blarney castle in way to rock of chashel.? We also wanted to go to Waterford factory so debated to hit that on way to Kilkenny vs rock of chashel. So we would just day trip to Waterford or rock what ever one we did not do
Do you have one night or two between Killarney and Kilkenny? You might want to look at staying in/near Cork, which is central to Kinsale, Cobh, Blarney and the distillery. Cobh is very easily and scenically done by train from Cork.
We have one night between Killarney and Kilkenny. Thought about cork but we like the smaller towns so wanted to shoot for kinsale or cobh.
You may have to play this by ear and adjust your itinerary each day depending on how timing is going...
I doubt if you would have time to include Muckross House on the day you are drivcing from Galway to Cliffs of Moher to Portmagee.
Muckross House, Blarney Cstle and Charles Fort is a pretty intensive day, depending on how long you spend in each place.
The same applies to your plans for Kinsale to Cobh (Titanic), then Middleton Distillery (what time is the tour?) then Rock of Cashel ending up in Kilkenny... You are loking at a minimum of 4 hours driving PLUS time for to visit the different attractions as well as finding parking etc...
I'm sure you have already been told that driving in Ireland can be quite slow and that is without allowing time for somewhere to park and then walk to and from the car, comfort breaks and lunch....
Thanks for the feed back. Yeah I really struggle with the plans for anything timed. I have heard blarney castle can be a wait to kiss the stone. We have kids so doubt there will be any tears shed if we skip old Middleton. Charles fort is not a must. Was getting a heritage card so if it fit in would stop by. Feel like the Skellig Micheal landing big part why spending more time by the ring. If we fail go go on the day we have played due to weather wanted to give a buffet of one more day.
