Help with 4 day itinerary

Hello,

I am coming to Ireland at the end of this month for 4 full days with three friends. We are in final planning stages and have a rough itinerary and would like to get suggestions/feedback from the TA community before we finalize our bookings.

There is so much to see in Ireland but I know we cant obviously cover everything. If our plans look too lofty, please let us know

Day 1 - We arrive in Shannon airport late in the night. We are renting our car, booking a hotel close to the airport and retiring.

Day 2 - Early start (8 AM) and drive to Cliffs of Moher and Dingle peninsula. Stay in Dingle for the night.

Questions - Is this too ambitious? What are must stops in the route?

Day 3 - ROK drive and spend the night in Kinsale

Questions - I think ROK will take the full day or is it possible to stop at Killarney National Park? Is Kinsale a good city to spend the night or do folks have another suggestion?

Day 4 - Drive from Kinsale to Dublin. Stop at Kilkenny Castle, Rock of Cashel and maybe Glendalough? Spend night at Dublin or somewhere close to Dublin?

Questions - Are there any other stops en route that we should see. Hotels in Dublin are really expensive. Does it make sense to spend the night near the outskirts? If yes then what possible towns?

Day 5 - Dublin Tour

Visit Book of Kells, Trinity College, Kilmainham Gaol, Jameson Distillery and Guinness Storehouse

. Do a pub crawl at night. Spend night in the city

Day 6 - Have brunch and leave for airport. Flights at 2 PM.

Does this itinerary seem reasonable. Please let me know if there is any feedback/suggestions.

Many thanks!

I see that you'll be on the ground in Ireland for 6 days in all, but day of arrival and day of departure are devoted to travel, leaving you 4 days and 4 nights to see Ireland. You have a jam-packed itinerary. Whether it's doable is one thing, but for my taste it would not be enjoyable.

It is good that you're flying open jaw (arrive Shannon, depart Dublin) since you seem most interested in sights in the west/southwest. Only you and your traveling companions know which choices are most important to you, but I would advise you to re-examine your priorities and cut down your list by about half.

I agree.. day 5 in Dublin is far too ambitious..

Choose two things.. you cant see all the main sights in a city in one day..

Thanks. I think I might spend the night on Day 2 at KNP and prioritize sights in Dublin based on feedback.
