Will be in Ireland the end of May and was planning on meeting friends in Galway who were renting a car to tour that area and the Dingle Peninsula, but she broke her leg skiing and cancelled her trip. My travel partner and I want to avoid driving if possible, but we don't want to miss the Dingle Peninsula. Does anyone know of private drivers/ or small tours in the Galway/Dingle area that could accommodate us. If we decide to bite the bullet and rent a car, can we rent a car in Galway and drop it off in Cork where we plan on staying 2 nights before taking a train back to Dublin? Thank you.

nay610-in the Dingle area, you can take an excellent day tour of the Slea Head drive, etc with Denis Ryan of Dingle Tours. He may have good contacts for you in other areas too. I highly recommend Denis' tour, he is an expert on the area, and best of all, he does the driving so you can see what you came to see. Here's his website, you can read about him on Tripadvisor too.

If you need a driver beyond just the Dingle Peninsula, contact Tony McGann of Doolin Taxi. Tony will cover that entire side of Ireland, and he is great fun. He used to own/run the famous McGann's Pub in Doolin, but he said running a pub is a young-man's job. So now he shows off the beauty of his country, and he does a great job.
We were with him for four days, and he really made our trip special.
