We are renting a car to go-to Dingle and the cliffs by Doolin. Where would be a good place to stay halfway between the two places?

Which two places - Dublin to Dingle or Dingle to Doolin?
If it's Dingle to Doolin the drive only takes about 3.5 hrs., so an intermediate stop is not necessary.
Going via the Tarbert ferry across the Shannon will add some time to the journey, but we much prefer going that way if the weather is good. There are some beautiful seascapes along the coast - it's slower, but much more scenic.
