Good meeting point at Dublin Airport, Cash needs

We will be arriving in Dublin next Wednesday 9/6, meeting up with another couple at the airport, both coming in to Terminal 2 about an hour apart. After customs clearance and securing euros, we'll be taking a cab to our hotel. Any recommendations on a convenient place to meet?

Also, we plan to use an ATM at the airport to get euros. Is that a good idea or is somewhere else a more favorable rate? Is there a specific bank's ATM recommended? And realistically, how much cash do we need per person for 7 days in Ireland? We plan to use credit cards where possible.

Thank you!!

unless you've booked lodging with "cash only" payment, you could survive with zero cash. Taxi, bus etc. take cards or tap to pay phone app. in three weeks this May, I never used anything besides my smartphone. if you tip buskers or make wishes in fountains, you'll need cash for that. even spending a tiny amount for a sweet or postcard is fine with tap to pay.

I'd avoid the airport ATMs as the rates are higher. Also, decline offers to pay in USD since your bank's exchange rates will be better.

ATMs do not have differing "rates". The exchange rate in a true ATM withdrawal is determined by the ATM network, and almost always is about 1%. There may be fees, from your bank, and from the ATM owner, but these will be disclosed. Do be aware of DCC, if they tell you your withdrawal will cost X US Dollars, then that is DCC and they are taking the transaction from an ATM withdrawal to a currency exchange. Make sure the transaction is carried out in euros. If you search on here for DCC, there is lots of discussion.

You will not need much cash. I would suggest though having about 50 euro, just in case, I would just use the ATM at the airport, avoiding DCC, you likely will have to pay a small fee for use.
