My father is an Irish born USA citizen who is 88 years old. He will be traveling in Ireland for two weeks from 7June-20June 2019. Is he eligible for the senior free travel on Irish Rail ?

From what I can find, the Golden Trekker Pass was discontinued in 2011 (after only a year) and there are no senior train discounts at www.irishrail.ie. The best prices are for purchasing in advance online, with some online discounts available up to 90 minutes before departure, or full-fare tickets are sold in stations.

The free travel scheme is only available to Irish citizens. The offer for tourists was only a temporary promotion a few years ago.
