Glasgow to Dublin

Best, cheapest way to go from Glasgow to Dublin? Traveling first of May.
I prefer the ferry if it makes sense at all, romantic that I am.

a few years ago we were taking the ferry from Ireland to Scotland.....a passenger had a "medical emergency" before we hit the half way point, had to turn around and go back....... and then of course, start over. fortunately, mom and I had purchased the tea cup with free refills.......I think we each sipped about 10 cups of tea that day,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Taking a ferry to Glasgow means travelling up to Belfast or Larne. Belfast Port is probably two hours from Dublin. The ferry is my favourite way to travel, though from Dublin it might mean turning into a day travelling, as opposed to a few hours if you choose to fly.

As much as I prefer the ferry, it will be much cheaper flying as Ryanair and Aer Lingus both now go to Glasgow Intl, which is ideal for the city, not too far away with frequent transport into the city centre.
