We will be in Ennis in late August and would like to visit the Cliffs, but we hope to NOT rent a car. Is there a bus that can take you all the way out there? Any other recommendations?
I e-mailed the receptionist at the hotel where we will staying about transportation to a location not far from Ennis. She gave me this e-mail address and when I checked their site saw they offer trips to the Cliffs. The company name is Barratt Tours. E-mail address is: www.4tours.biz. They depart from Ennis and Limerick. Their tour schedule will not work for us so we ended up contacting a taxi service. Galway Day Tours offer a tour to the Cliffs but do not know if they pick up in Ennis.
Check out TOURSBYLOCALS.com. They come and pick you up at your hotel and drive you on a tour for the day.
When I drove to the cliffs I kept getting turned around in the Burren. I found the roads very poorly marked throughout the country and the signs I did see were very small and easy to miss. I did eventually get there and can laugh at my adventure when I look back on it.
