Getting married in Ireland

We are getting married in Ireland this summer (yay!) but we are having trouble deciding on where the actual ceremony should take place...
Dingle at Minard Castle overlooking the Atlantic ocean or Corcomroe Abby near the Burren and Ballyvaughan.

We will be spending a day or two before the wedding and a day after the wedding in the area. On the day of the wedding we will be taking a tour of the area for pics as well.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance :-)

I assume you have checked into the legal requirements for US citizens to marry in Ireland (assuming you are US citizens, since your profile doesn't say where you are)? Or are you planning a non-legal ceremony with a legal one at home later (or before)? Assuming you are only planning a symbolic, not a legal, ceremony, either location would be beautiful but outdoor weddings are forbidden in Ireland.

Thanks Nancy. We are aware of the legal issues, which was one of the reasons we decided to complete the legalities in California. I guess we were just curious about which location would have the most to do, or be the best to host a small group of family members there to celebrate a binding ceremony.

Both places look great. I think with Dingle in the summer you may need to start booking rooms ASAP if there are a lot of people coming. The only thing when I was looking at the websites, is it doesn't look like you can reserve the sites before hand, so you could have tourist there with you.

Hi,
My wife and I seriously considered getting married in Leanaune on Killary Harbor. But we found out, and this was twenty-two years ago, that we had to 'publish our bands' and be available locally during that time. The publish the bands period was 27 days? Of course that was 22 years ago, back when the Irish would rather walk into a wall than wear eye glasses. And divorce was illegal.

You might want to check into this old Catholic requirement. Especially at the church or local where you would like the ceremony performed.
