I will be traveling from the Aran Islands on the ferry. Once I dock we are supposed to take the bus back to Galway and then onto Bunratty Castle. Is there a quicker way to get to Bunratty Castle without going back to Galway first?

Where is your ferry landing? If it's at Rossaveel, you have to go through Galway before you head south. You're going around the end of the bay.

Yes, we land in Rossaveel and take the bus back to Galway. Can I get a bus from Galway to Bunratty Castle?

See p. 2 of this schedule for bus #51 from Galway to Bunratty: http://www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1360753025-051.pdf. Bunratty is not listed on the return direction of bus travel. Were you renting a car for part of this trip?
