Getting from Dingle to Howth by train, etc.

I'm trying to figure out the quickest way to get from Dingle to Howth on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. It looks like Tralee is the closest train station that would get me to Dublin, where I would be happy to transfer to the light-rail (I think) that links Howth with Dublin. I'm having a hard time figuring out the timetables on the IrishRail website. Does anyone have any other websites that might work better?

Thanks.

www.hittheroad.ie covers most, if not all transport operators.
Not sure if you can buy a through train ticket from Tralee to Howrh online so you may have to buy separate tickets for each leg.

Have you looked at rome2rio.com? It shows a number of options.

www.irishrail.ie will easily sell you a ticket on the direct train from Tralee to Dublin Heuston station (end of the line). Those run about every two hours and offer various online and advance-purchase discounts that are not sold in stations. However, the DART line to Howth does not stop at Heuston station, so you must make an additional connection by bus, taxi, or 3 km walk. See also http://www.dublintourist.com/maps/dart-and-dublin-suburban-rail-map/. Irish Rail will show you the connection schedule, but it also says, "To purchase DART or Commuter tickets, please go to your local station."

Alternatively, book your train ticket from Tralee to "Dublin City Centre". This will include an add-on fare for the tram to Connolly Station. One less ticket to buy!

Thanks for all of the responses and suggestions. After posting my question, I found and downloaded the Irish Rail app on my phone. It's a lot easier (for me) to use and I think I'll be using it to figure out my travel, although it appears that I can't book any train tickets until 60 days from the dates of travel. Thanks again.

If you are going to Howth, you must must must eat at the Bloody Stream (pretty sure of the name). It is location below the train station. I have been to Ireland twice and go out of my way to go there for dinner. Im sure it's open for lunch too. I am going in ten days to Ireland and will not miss a trip there. It's just a really good pub/restaurant with great ambiance and food.

Thanks for the recommendation. Any other pubs or restaurants you would recommend there or even in Dublin. We'll be in the area for about a week, seeing Jimmy Buffet on September 21st in Dublin.

Thanks.
