Getting around Inis Mor (Inishmore)

Group of 3 will be on the island for 5-ish hours on a Sunday in May (over/back via Doolin ferry). We don't want to rent bikes. We are walkers/hikers but know the island is too big to see all on foot in a few hours. I am looking for recommendations on pony cart tours, or mini-bus tours, or something else? Comments on whether to reserve ahead would be helpful too. Thanks!

You're correct that walking is pretty limiting. When your ferry lands and you walk up to the main street, there will be pony carts and minivans hawking a ride. We rented bikes and stayed the night, so I don't know if reservations are available or necessary. You'll probably be fighting over the rides with your fellow ferry passengers, so if you can't find any reservation websites (Tripadvisor?), you'll want to hustle.

We were in Inis Mor this past Saturday. Our group of 10 easily hired a mini-bus for a tour when we arrived, we did not reserve ahead. Cost was 20 euros for 2-3hr tour, they run a loop that stops at all of the major stops. The bus had seat for 13 passengers, another couple joined our trip.

Pony carts were 40 euros per person- no need to reserve ahead, I believe the go out and back to Don Angus, but don't cover the same loop as the mini-bus due to time constraints.

We're doing Aran Off Road Experience in June; can't tell you how it will go at this point!
