My husband and I are traveling to Ennis next month and won't have a car since we will be joining a tour group. We have an extra full day before our tour starts so I am interested in seeing Caherconnell Fort but don't have any idea how to get there. Does anyone know if there are day-tours that leave from Ennis? We're staying at the Old Ground Hotel.
According to Rome2rio bus 333 stop 635341 goes to Lemenagh Castle (stop 350911) taking 30m. From the Lemenagh Castle stop you’ll need to take a taxi to Caherconnell Stone Fort that’s another four to five miles.
According to the Fort website there is a free bus which runs from Corrofin. Corrofin is also on the Bus Eireann #333 route. You wouldn't expect Rome2Rio to know about such a free bus.
This is the Sunday 333 Timetable (the one above is Monday to Saturday)
