We want to do the tour of Gap of Dunloe and boat ride by ourselves, as follows:
9:00 Take the Killarney Shuttle Bus fro Killarney
9:20 Arrive at Kate Kearney's and take a jaunting car through the Gap
11:00 Arrive at Lord Brandon’s Cottage and take a boat
12:30 Arrive at Ross Castle and take a ride back to Killarney.
Is this schedule possible?
Are there regular available boats from Lord Brandon’s Cottage to Ross Castle?
We were there 10 days ago. We took a boat from Ross Castle to Lord Brandon's cottage using https://gapofdunloetraditionalboattours.com/. Would highly recommend them, although their boats from LB Cottage to Ross run later in the afternoon than your schedule above. We rented bikes and toured the Gap that way, although we saw plenty of people in the jaunting cars.
You don't mention WHEN you are going so that does factor in for this schedule. I spend two nights a month at least in Killarney, and if you want to do that in tourist season, you certainly can. But there's less activity in the winter....
Did you also know you can take the boat from Ross castle with bikes, and cycle back through the Gap?
And if you pass by Dini's Cottage (near meeting of the waters) that's a great spot for tea and a treat!
