I had no luck researching where I could do laundry myself in Galway. RS listed two full service sites.
But I finally found one behind the Circle K petro station at 160 College Road. They don’t even list it on the front signage. Either 8kg or 18kg loads and 1 dryer. Credit card, soap supplied automatically. Very easy. Takes about 90 minutes total time.
Sounds like one of the Revolution units that are common now around petrol stations and supermarket car parks. Think they've had a mention on the forum before.
A lot of former Tesco petrol stations (now branded "Certa") are having the shop area converted into Speed Queen self-service laundrettes. Might prove useful if anyone is near one of their locations.
We attempted to use a Revolution site in Killarney, and it was terrible., The washer did a poor job of extraction, and after two hours, the dryer still hadn't dried anything (even though it seemed to be getting warm). Ended up with wet clothes all over the room for the next several nights. Paying 15-20 euros to get it done while we're out sightseeing is a bargain.
Oh that's misfortunate! I wonder did the machine not spin after washing. Happened to me once before and the only solution was to run a cycle again, which was annoying to say the least.
