Galway hotel?

I hope your chance is good! Have you considered booking a cancelable reservation through something like Booking.com? You have to read the fine print about the exact details, but it's often 24-48 hour cancelation window (sometimes longer though, thus fine print). You can sort search results by properties that offer free cancelation.

The uncertainty is caused by the fact I travel standby. So I don’t know I’m getting out until I actually board the plane. This negates the 24-48 hour cancellation option.

Well then never mind my suggestion! Hope you get some good ideas.

Don't know how last minute this hotel is, but in March we were 5 days in Galway and stayed at the Galmont. Very nice place.

We stayed at the Leonardo hotel a few months ago. I'm not sure about their cancelation policy but it was a great hotel in a great location.
