I will be in Galway for two weeks the last half of June. I won't have a car and don't want one. With that, I'm concerned about getting bored and just ending up in a pub all the time! I was there last year, have been to the Cliffs, and to Inishmore and the Burren, any suggestions on what to do with days/nights? I suppose we can take tours of the Ring of Kerry, or take the bus to Dingle, and maybe to Limerick again, but I'm wondering if anyone has other inspiring suggestions.
Connemara is also a beautiful area. I'm sure there's day-tours to the area. We really enjoyed the Kylemore Abbey and the Killary Fjord.
I'd consider going out to the Arann islands for a day or two. You can take a shuttle bus from Galway to Rosaveel, where you can catch a ferry to Kilronan. See www.aranislandferries.com for schedules and details. There are also inexpensive flights from Connemarra regional airport, west of Galway (€49 round trip, 10-min. flight). See www.aerarannislands.ie for details and booking.
