We will have one day/night in Galway, enroute from Dublin to Cork.
We have pondered the ferry to the Aran Islands. Would you recommend that in a one day trip?
Or what are the top suggestions to site see for one day and stay in Galway?

We love Galway, but to travel the extra two hours to get there seems a little odd. We also love the Aran Islands, but that will eliminate anything you might do in Galway except an evening Guinness and music. Spending the night in Kilronan improves the Aran experience quite a bit, once the day tourists all evaporate at 5pm.
There are innumerable places of interest on a more direct route from Dublin/Cork. Car or public transport? Favorite things to do/see?
We've been to Ireland three times and are making our fourth trip in a few days - never a shortage of new things to see/do/enjoy.
