Galway B & B

My husband and I will be in Galway for two nights in June. We will be driving from Dublin immediately after our arrival. I would appreciate suggestions on "cozy" places to stay such as a b & b or small hotel. We will have a car, but enjoy walking in town so a place within walking distance of Galway's historic and interesting sights would be nice. Thanks!

Four Seasons B&B on College Road. Owners very friendly, breakfast good, place is clean. They have parking on-site for guests, but it is still within walking distance of the center of Galway (about 7 to 10 minutes to Eyre Square). There are lots of B&Bs along College Road. If you have not already booked airfare, you may want to check to see what it would cost to fly into Shannon and out of Dublin since you mention you are arriving in Dublin and driving straight to Galway. Shannon is much closer and is generally an easier airport to deal with in terms of getting a rental car and not being stuck in traffic.

Hi Patrice
Ive stayed in both he college crest and four seasons on college road many times and both are definitenly good.
My personal favourite is 'Petra House', its also on college road. The owners are Frank and Joan. Of the hundreds of B&Bs that Ive stayed in, Petra House is the #1 in terms of delightful and genuine Irish hospitality and customer-service, if you end up there you'll have a real 'wow moment'.
Slainte!

I'd add another vote for Petra House! Frank and Joan are lovely people and fun to chat with! The room was great, as was breakfast (if Frank offers you a little Bailey's for your porridge take him up on it--delicious!). We were able to walk into town from there, but we opted for a cab back after an evening in the pubs--the fare was very reasonable.
