Galway 3 nights Maybe?

We have 3 nights in Galway (haven't decided where to stay yet in April). Want to see Cliffs of Moher, possibly Connemara National Park (heard it was a beautiful drive) and Kylemore Abby, maybe Aran Islands. May do a couple tours instead of driving? This is doable in 3 days right? Suggestions on where to stay?

Plan on one full day for the Aran Islands based on the timing of the ferry coming and going. I would say another day for the park and Kylemore Abbey.

Where are you coming from before Galway, if coming from the south, you may want to stop at the Cliffs on your way to Galway.

We have stayed in Petra House B&B on College Rd in Galway. It’s an easy walk into the center of the city. If they are full, there are other B&Bs on the street. These days, since we don’t do the pub scene so much, we prefer to stay in Salthill. There are some nice restaurants (I really like the Italian food at La Collina) and O’Connors Pub. The walk along the promenade is nice. We have taken the bus into Galway from here, easy to do.

Maybe we’ll run into you; we’ll be there for 3 nights in April, too.

Alli thanks for the info. We haven't heard back from Petra House yet...Where do you stay in Salthill? I have heard several people mention Salthill. I will look into that as well! Do you do tours, if so which ones? We will be there on or about mid April.

Jerry, the last time we stayed at Marless House. Great hostess and the best breakfast ever, but she was already booked, so we are trying Cappa Veagh this time. We have also stayed at Prague House, which is more convenient to Galway center.

We have never done an organized tour, we just get in the car after breakfast and head our for the day with our trusty (and huge) Michelin map. Connemara is so beautiful! We like to get off the main roads and take the little loops.

With 3 nights you really have two full days. Out of those two, choose the one with better weather to visit the Aran Islands. For the other day you can get out to see Connemara, Clifden and Kylemore Abbey, but it will be a full day! These are the areas where you are likely to see a few sheep wandering along the road. I am hoping for sun this time because it was pouring rain the last time we were in Connemara.
