My family will be traveling on the 14 day Best of Ireland tour with its free day in Dingle. What are some good options to make the most of this day and this beautiful location?
Gap of Dunloe, a pint at Foxy John’s, Coulmeenoole Beach, Inch Beach, Kilarney National Park. You’ll need a car for all except Foxy John’s.
Are you wanting to spend the day in and around Dingle itself, or are you wanting to venture a bit further afield? (If so what places have you balready covered on youyr tour?)
Are you planning on hiring a car for the day ?
Think about a guided walk around Dingle town or a guided tour around Dingle Distillery or a visit to Dingle Aquarium.
There are ideas for a self guided amble round Dingle here and details of the Dingle Health for walk here.
The RS tour guide will give you some suggestions . It poured rain on our free day in Dingle so I stayed in town. If you like seafood, I recommend Out of the Blue. I had a fantastic meal here. They have a chalkboard menu based on whatever was caught that day. You need to make a reservation well in advance of your trip:

Some of the folks on our tour took boat excursions (dolphins?) from the harbor. But I wouldn't make any plans until you know the weather.
Since you are on RS’s Tour, you will most likely need to focus on sights within walking distance of your hotel. We took this same tour & enjoyed a hike out to the lighthouse (past Hussey’s Folly). We also visited St Mary’s Church (incredible stained glass windows); poked our heads into every shop that captured our interest; ate fish & chips; & visited several pubs.
We are currently on the Best of Ireland in 7 Days w family & on our two night stop in Dingle, we are going to Neligan’s Bar which is owned by Dara Herlihy who was our RS Best of Ireland in 14 Days tour guide in 2017. We were part of his last tour group & he was working on opening Neligan’s. Check it out!
