Flying from Kerry Airport to Dublin Airport

Hi all,

My wife and I will be finishing our car-free trip to Ireland on the Dingle Peninsula in mid-September 2018. We discovered that Kerry Airport has direct flights to Dublin, where we'd catch our flight back to the states.

We're looking for information on how to get from Dingle Town to the Kerry Airport. Also, are flights out of Kerry Airport reliable (weather delays, problems with the departure schedule, etc.)?

We plan to fly out of Kerry into Dublin on a Monday morning, stay the night in a nearby hotel, then catch our 3 PM flight the next day back to LAX.

PS: We're also looking for contacts for a moderately priced hotel near the Dublin Airport with free shuttle service.

Thanks for your help!

Tim

For the airport hotel, I suggest you use booking.com, or your favorite site and select 'air port shuttle' in the filters and see what appears for your date. Not all hotels that have shuttle service are free.

As for how to get to Kerry airport, can you not use whatever mode of transport you plan to use to get to Dingle?

moderately priced

You really need to supply a number. I suspect what that phrase means to Bill Gates is not what it means to me.( and most of the others on this forum)

Fair enough. Thanks for your other info!

Moderately priced," (including a "free" breakfast and shuttle to airport) = ~$180+/- for the missus and me-self.

Bus Eireann runs numerous times a day between the two. I think it cost $20-25 per and takes less than two hours. I'd consult the Bus Eireann's site. You can also easily hire a car & driver to take you....my best guess is around $100. Good luck.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express by the airport. Free breakfast and shuttle. The room was pretty small but it was just to sleep before our flight so was fine.

My wife and I just did exactly what you are wanting to do. We went from Dingle to Dublin this past Sunday. We spent four days in Dingle without a car (unexpectedly but that's another story). It was great! We went to the Tourist Information office in Dingle on Friday and they were extremely helpful. They booked a local shuttle driver who picked us up on Sunday morning and drove us to the County Kerry airport. It took about an hour and cost us 20 euro each. We stayed at the Radisson Blu Dublin airport. It was fine and not too expensive on Sunday night. They have a free shuttle but you can actually walk to the airport from there also. There are other hotels nearby. Have a great trip!

I used Begley's Dingle Shuttle Bus to get to and from Kerry Airport and Dingle. Nice folks. Worked like a charm.

Flights to and from Kerry worked just fine.

With a 3 p.m. flight out of Dublin, I would definitely stay the prior night in downtown Dublin rather than the airport. Don't miss out on an evening in Dublin.
