We'll be traveling to Ireland this summer. I have plans to visit Dublin and Belfast before meeting friends in Shannon. I cannot find a nonstop flight from Belfast to Shannon. I have checked the airlines in the RS' Ireland book to no avail. There must be an airline that travels within Ireland itself without leaving the country. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
There used to be a flight from Belfast to Shannon and onward to New York but that was discontinued some time back. Any internal flights tend to link small regional airports with Dublin. You would need to take a bus to Dublin Airport and a second bus towards Limerick unfortunately.
A better option depending on your travel plans would be to fly into Belfast and do that part of your trip and then take a train from Belfast Central into Dublin Connolly Station. It is a direct train for around 20 Euro and it is about 2 hours. Do your Dublin experience and then take a train from Dublin to Limerick and then a local bus from Limerick to Shannon. The bus station is in the same building that the train arrives into. Safe travels.
Thanks for the info. Since our flight into Dublin is already booked we'll just spend the extra time there and do as mentioned train to limerick and bus to shannon. Looks like we'll have to plan a return trip to do NI. :)
