Hi all,
Never been to Ireland, but really excited to go for my first trip!!! … it seems most people think on return flight back to the United States that it’s better to get a morning flight from Ireland… But of course the cheapest flights I’m seeing on Google flights are for a 10 PM flight. Any thoughts on whether morning or nights are preferable from Dublin back to Boston?
Are there really nonstop flights that depart Dublin at 10pm? That would get you into Boston around midnight. Midnight in Boston would be 5am Dublin time. Since you will presumably have adjusted to Dublin time, it would essentially be a red eye for you.
As long as you are ok with the flight departure and arrival time, that is all that really matters. For what it is worth, I prefer afternoon flights to morning flights but there are others who prefer arriving home earlier.
Do you mean leaving Dublin at 10PM or arriving Boston at 10PM?
The latest departure I can find is 750PM with a 10PM arrival.
If I lived in Boston , I would have no problem with that.
Whenever I go to the US (from London, not Dublin, but flight time is similar) I always do the last flight of the day, which is around 8pm. I find this works much better for jetlag because I arrive in NYC late evening and am tired from the flight so go right to bed. The next day I wake up a little on the early side and might be tired a bit that evening but I adjust very quickly. I would always select that over a morning flight.
hey hey ellenshell65
it doesn't make a difference to me, was a 10 hour flight to SFO for me. just wanted to get home with the day off next day.
important for you to think about, if you depart at 10pm, reserve your hotel room an extra night. check-ins are 3-4pm & check-out is 10-11am.
don't wanna hang around with luggage, place to take a nap & shower before late "redeye" flight.
have a guiness while there😁 enjoy
aloha
The evening flight from Dublin would basically get you an extra day in Ireland. You would just need to store your luggage somewhere for the day (probably at your hotel after you’ve checked out). If your final destination is Boston and it’s a direct flight, it would probably work great. If you’re connecting to another city from Boston, I’d wonder if you’d have to spend the night in the Boston airport until the next morning (assuming there won’t be that many flights so late from Boston.
