We will be flying from Dublin to London at the end of October on a yet to be booked flight. The question we are mulling over is "is it better to book now, or wait until we are in Dublin and book 3 weeks prior to our flight??" There seems to be a number of flights per day between Dublin and the various airports in London (Gatwick, Heathrow and City) . Part of me wants to get the flight booked now, but on the other hand we've heard that flights can be cheaper if booked outside of North America. Does anyone have some advice and/or experience regarding this?
I don't know about what you heard but plane tickets prices generally go up as capacity decreases and the flight at the time you want may be more expensive
I hadn’t heard about cheaper flight prices if bought outside the USA. Airlines name their price, and that’s what it is, unless they change it closer to the departure date, and then it’s still the same for any prospective passenger.
Flights aren’t like waiting for the next taxi in the queue. Traveling a great distance through the air, we’ve booked our flights, so we have the peace of mind that that part of the trip is already covered.
Thanks for the input - that's been some of my thoughts as well.
