Fishing on RS 14 day Ireland trip?

We are signed up for the 2 week Ireland RS trip for August...my husband is an avid fly fisherman...Has anyone done any fishing on this trip and if so where and which days of the tour is there time for that?

I'm not sure what type of fishing he likes. It looks like you have a whole day free on the Dingle Peninsula (day 7) and I'm sure there is plenty there, just google fishing on Dingle Peninsula. If he likes fly fishing, there are rivers and streams all over Ireland and any time you have a free morning or afternoon you should be able to find something nearby.

Maybe one of the Ireland guides will see this and respond. There is at least one who responds pretty regularly to Ireland questions.

It's a funny thing but I did not see anyone fishing in the many streams and rivers on our trip to Ireland last month. However, this site http://www.fishinginireland.info/ seems to suggest the fishing is great! We did not see anyone kayaking in the rivers either, which seemed like an obvious thing to do too. Maybe it was a little early in the year for that, not sure.

The two times I was in Ireland, once in mid-July and once in mid-Aug, we saw lots of fishermen fly fishing in the streams and rivers. I can't remember exactly where it was but I do have a photo I took on the August trip. I took it from the bridge over the river right in the town and there are 4 or 5 guys fishing in the picture. I don't know what time of year is the best for river or steam fishing or when the fishing season is in Ireland but since I have photos taken in August that is a good sign for the OP since that's when they're going.

Use caution regarding fishing license/permit, confirm what's required. There was a story last year about fines imposed in Paris for those not properly licensed; enormous fines, there anyway.

I did this tour in 2014 and the only real time that is available is the full day in Dingle. There was about 1/2 a day in Kinsale after the guided walk thru the town then the bus out to Charles Fort, the tour there and walk back to town. I'm not a fisherman so I didn't notice if there are any fly fishing outfitters in Dingle town but that might be your best bet.

Agreeing with the others that the only time you might be able to fish is the free day in Dingle.

But what to do with your catch? Will you release them back to the water? I don't think the B&B we stayed at would be very willing to cook anything for you.
