Hello everyone! This is my first trip to Ireland, will be just my husband and I going as the kids are staying with family. I have set travel dates and arrangements for places to stay all booked already.I'd love some suggestions on what to see and places to go while there. This is what I have scheduled.
Arrive in Dublin June 2nd-Going to Belfast,Titanic museum is a must and Mourne's Seafood for a good meal! Staying that night in a hotel near Titanic Quarter.
June 3rd- Maybe some sightseeing in Belfast for a bit before catching the train to Dublin to pick up keys for apartment-booked for a week June 3rd-10th next to St. Patrick Cathedral. Evening open-maybe some sightseeing in that area?
June 4th-Open day
June 5th-Portrush...going from Dublin to Portrush, must be at Portrush Harbor for my father's memorial service by 7pm.Have a boat chartered to take us out to sea just off Dunluce Castle to scatter his ashes.Spending the night at Ashlea House B&B
Dunluce Castle/Giant's Causeway maybe this day or the next
.
June 6th to June 9th are open days, have most of the day on the 10th before heading to our hotel that night to get ready to fly back to the US on the 11th. Husband and I are both thinking Book of Kells,Archaeology Museum,Newgrange and Hill of Tara while there, maybe a ghost tour as well? Also possibly a Game of Thrones day tour?
Not wanting to drive this trip-we'll save that for the next trip.Thinking of taking my Ipod so I can use FaceTime to stay in touch with the kids and for e-mail.Going to travel light-one backpack or small bag each plus my RS Ireland 2015 guidebook, documents needed, etc. All suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank you for your help!
