First time Ireland in June

My husband and I are heading to Ireland in June. He has a meeting in Dublin first and then plan on traveling out from there. Our plan is to leave Dublin on Saturday and then fly out of Dublin the following Saturday. Wish we had more time as there is so much to see and do. Not sure how many nights we should stay in one area. Most itineraries I found take you south of Dublin first toward Waterford/Cork and then traveling clockwise back to Dublin. I am interested in going the other direction towards Galway Kylemore and then down and around to Killarney and then head back to Dublin. Day 6 is open not sure what would be the best to do and where to stay before heading back to Dublin or should I add another day somewhere. The west and southwest coast seems to be more our style. If someone would be so kind to help us out that would be great. Some of the other highlights I would like to see would be Bunratty castle, Skellig island and Glendalough if there is time. We enjoy good food and music. After reading several of the forums, which by the way are awesome, I am realizing travel is not as easy as one would think. We are renting our own car. Probably will try to book rooms ahead of our arrival, would really like to try B&B's.

This is my first try at an our itinerary
Day 1 - Drive to Galway
Day 2 - Explore Kylemore Abbey & Connemara area, back to Galway for the night
Day 3 - Drive to Cliffs of Moher, Burren, stay in either Ennis & Limerick area
Day 4 & 5 - Explore Dingle/ROK, stay in either Killarney or Kenmare
Day 6 - Open, maybe Cork area
Day 7 - Explore and drive back to Dublin, fly out next day
Any thoughts or suggestions would be great. Thanks

I would suggest driving to Cong and staying at Ashford Castle (amazing place!) for two days and while there take the course at the Falconry School (truly a backdoor experience), of our two weeks in Ireland the time at Ashford Castle was the Highlight! Then I would drive to the cliffs of Moher and spend 2 hrs tops (less if very windy) and drive on into Bunratty with reservations for the Medieval Banquet at the Bunratty Castle that night (trust me, you will love this) . The next morning drive to Dingle and spend 2 days enjoying the area, then drive back to Dublin with stops at Muckross House at Killarney National Park, and Glendalough/Wicklow Mts. before arriving in Dublin. (In my opinion the Rock of Cashel is very underwhelming and if you have limited time I would skip it) While your in Dublin on the first weekend make sure to take the "Literary Pub Crawl", it is a blast. I love Ireland and you are going to have a great time!!!

Important: I would book the places your going to stay very soon because these places fill up soon during June-August.
