my hubby and I are senior citizens visiting dublin for the first time jan. 2025 for about 8 days. We would love to really splurge and stay at a luxurious, 5-star hotel in the heart of the city, near shops and restaurants. can anyone recommend a hotel that is top-notch? Thanking you in advance.

The Merrion will take very good care of you. But if you want a Michelin starred dinner in Dublin don't go to Patrick Guilbaud. Go to Chapter One.

The Shelbourne Hotel, where Julia Roberts’ and Liam Neeson’s characters danced in the movie “Michael Collins,” is another one of Dublin’s best hotels. In 1922 the Constitution of the Irish Free State was drafted in room 112 of the Shelbourne Hotel.
