finding a driver in the West of IRELAND

I am nervous about driving in Ireland, we are going to Westport on April 13, 2016 and there are 4 of us looking to hire a driver from Westport to take us to Sligo, Donegal, the Grand Causeway and finally back to Dublin. The trip will start on Sunday April 17th with a day in each of the 3 places above. I have tried the hotel in Westport but have not received an answer. I know it is last minute, and thanks for this fantastic website!

Greetings from Ireland.

Thats quite a specific itinerary and pick-up point so it'll be hard to find a driver-guide who is
1. Good quality and knowledgable
2. Fully insured (this bit is important, because if you have an accident you wont be covered if its discovered you were hiring the driver and he/she didnt have the proper licenses and insurance for carrying fee-paying passengers which is classed as 'for hire and reward')
To find someone who ticks both these boxes, check this link form the National Tour guide Association

or you could just get a good character taxi-driver in Westport, he/she will have the insurance, and you could find local guides to fill in any missing blanks. Irish people are very well educated and knowledgable about our island however, so its likely the taxi driver would be a superb guide!
