We are thinking of taking the ferry to Inishmore but were wondering if we need to catch the bus in Galway to Rossaveel or if we can just drive to Rossaveel and pick up the ferry there??? If we can just catch the ferry in Rossaveel, can we pre-buy tickets/is there a ferry schedule for leaving from Rossaveel?

They offer a shuttle service from Galway (for a fee) but with a car it's easier to just drive out yourself. It's been a few years but the parking was free at Rossaveal the last time we did it.
Suggest checking the weather before you book - the ferries are small boats and will rock and roll in bad weather or high sea state.
It's been 2 years since we did this but we booked passage on line the day before we wanted to go so we were able to assure ourselves that the weather would cooperate. We also drove to Rossaveel and parking was very easy.
Thank you! I think making a reservation a few days before is our best bet considering we don't know the weather this far out. If it works out....it works out!
Actually, you can wait until the day before to book - the ferry never fills up. Would provide you with the most accurate weather forecast before you commit to a particular day.
