Leaving from Galway to take ferry and stay one night on Aran Islands. What is the best option for our rental car....where to park it for the night? Safe?

The ferry from Galway City has not run for nearly 20 years now, if that's what you meant about "Leaving from Galway..." There just wasn't sufficient business to retain the service. You need to drive due west from Galway along the coast road for about an hour to Rossaveal to catch the ferry to Kilronan on Inishmor. There's a parking lot at the terminal for your car. Alternatively, you can drive to Doolin to catch the ferry to any of the three islands. I don't know if there's parking on the Doolin dock. The link to the Doolin Ferries is:

Ireland is one of the safest countries in Europe! Of course, you should inquire about any car vandalism problems, etc. at the terminal.

As I recall the ferry company has a pickup point in Galway city to shuttle you out to the landing at Rossaveel ... for a fee of course. Not sure what parking arrangements they may have for those leaving a vehicle, but that info should be on the link that David provided.
