We will be in that area in early November. any info or observations you would like to share? Worth the 1 1/2 hr detour to go see? can you drive up near it ? (we have people with limited mobility with us)

You will not be disappointed with Fanad. It is simply spectacular IMO. I can't speak to accessibility though, as it's a few years since I was there and I didn't pay attention to that aspect of a visit. Check www.greatlighthouses.com (that may not be correct address, but it's something like that).

I was considering the trek to Fanad Lighthouse as I saw some gorgeous photos I was hoping to capture for myself. However, when I looked at the area via Google Earth, it didn't look very easy to capture those photos. It looked like one would walk through a cow pasture. I'm not opposed to hiking around and through a cow pasture, but I decided that there was some other scenery I was interested in and I only have a certain amount of time.

had to postpone till 2020 but will make sure to add it to the route we take for sure.
