Family trip & genealogy

Hi,
6 or 8 of us are trying to organize a family trip to Ireland August 29-Sept 12, 2018. We would be flying in to Shannon or Dublin from Seattle, San Francisco, and NYC. Our ancestors lived in Co. Leitrim, Clare, Cork and Waterford. We would probably fly into Dublin,to Waterford, then start a tour in Dublin. It would be great if the tour ended in Shannon. Then we could go to Leitrim, Clare and Cork.

Any ideas on how to plan such a trip?

What kind of ideas are you wanting? Things to do? Which places to see? Places to stay? A little more information please.
I would start by reading these forums on Ireland. A wealth of information and google Ireland blogs too.

Planning starts with how many days you have, what places you want to visit and what type of lodging you would like (budget, or luxury or in-between).
Are you self driving or wanting a tour?

Has anyone hired a genealogist to give a tour of their ancestral places in Ireland?

We would like to visit the ancestral places in Leitrim and Clare (3 or 4 days) on our own then start a tour. After the tour we would like to visit Waterford (one day). We have about 14 days altogether. We would like to stay in moderately priced places-B &Bs or hotels. The tourists things we want to see would most likely be included on the tour.
The ideal tour would start around Shannon airport and end in Dublin but we could start in Dublin and end around Shannon airport.
