Eurail or just book through Irish Rail?

Hello:-) I am traveling to Ireland for the first time with my 9 year old daughter and I think rail travel will work best for us traveling city to city and then taking busses/tours/taxis to get to some of the places rail service does not cover. My question is, is it worth getting the Ireland Eurail pass for $189 for 5 days of travel within a month (and the site is saying children 4-11 is free) or just buying tickets as we go? I guess I am slightly confused because the Irish Rail website charges for a child's ticket and Eurail does not. Any insight regarding this is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Alexis

Avoid Eurail and buy point to point. Most who inquire about Eurail on this forum usually have problems after buying it. Get the Irish Rail ap and book with that using the hotel internet wifi if you want to save money.

Thanks for your response:-) I haven't used a Eurail pass since 2001 so it has been a minute. Ha!
