I’m wondering if there’s any advantage to buying tickets to the museum in advance? We don’t plan to do family heritage research. Thank you in advance.

We went last Aug and got tickets the am before it opened on line. . I think you could have gotten them at the door. It was a weekend & it was crowded. We enjoyed the museum very much.

It very much depends on when you go. I went during the week between Xmas and NYE in 2018, no advance purchase, and we were practically alone the whole time.

When we went, we bought before hand. We did not do any family heritage either, just a visit to the museum. We (family of 4 with 16yo and 18yo at the time) loved this museum! Hope you have a great visit

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I think we will just buy tickets that day cause it will be day after we land and who knows how jet lagged we will feel. Appreciate the replies!

I would encourage you to also visit the ship Jeanie Johnston, anchored outside the Epic Museum. I found the story of this migrant ship fascinating, one more episode in Irish Famine history. I bought the ticket online to reserve a timed admission.
