Has anyone used eBikes outside the cities to explore? Don't know if they're suitable for older explorers.

We rented e-bikes on the island of Inishmore last year and had a blast. What areas are you interested in? Be aware that most of the the small roads in Ireland that I’ve seen are narrow and lined with plants, often with rock walls behind the plants. No shoulders to pull off on.
