How exciting! You will have to let me know what the best tour options are in Dublin. Hop-on-hop-off bus?
Are you going to Belfast?
Cliffs of Moher?

Pat Liddy walking tours is a recommendation from Rick's book. I see on the website that he offers private tours.

We've used Sandesman's free walking tours in Brussels and Amsterdam. They do have them in Dublin. We signed up for one in Dublin last year but were unable to make the scheduled time

Just got back from Dublin. We loved the Viking Walking Tour in Dublin. I learned so much. Actually, we met Bren (the viking in the pics) at the pub the night before and took a leap and booked it.

Thank you all so much for your quick responses!
We only have 2 days in Dublin so any other suggestions would be most appreciated.
How is the Hop-On-Hop Off Bus?
Guiness experience?
Which church is our best option: St. Patrick's or Christ Church?
Book of Kells is definitely #1 on my list.

We were in Ireland last summer. We did the Guinness tour. Some people love it, it’s a huge building with multiple levels but very crowded and it’s self guided. I thought the best part was the top level where you get your pint and have an incredible view of the city. I actually preferred the smaller whiskey distillery tours that are guided. You might want to look at the Epic Museum if you’re interested in the emigration of the Irish people. I thought it was very well done. There’s also the Natural History Museum with the bog people and beautiful artifacts if that’s of interest. On our RS tour of Ireland in 2019 we had a local guide that is the one mentioned in a post above. He’s very good, a little long winded for me but I found the people of Ireland to be very passionate about their history so I suggest doing a little research into it so as not to be too overwhelmed by all you are told. Book of Kells was again, very crowded and patience is required to get up close enough to see the pages they have open. Ireland is a beautiful place, enjoy!

Regarding the HOHO bus, we had the Dublin pass which came with it. It also included a coastal bus tour which we also took. There was some really pretty scenery and impressive homes on the coastal tour.

In the city, the HOHO bus was pretty good. I wouldn't recommend that in most cities die to traffic, but it is manageable in Dublin. After several days of walking 10+ miles it was nice to relax on the bus and listen to the commentary, which was over a loudspeaker. The weather was really nice for us.

Am I better off booking the Book of Kells Experience early morning or late in the afternoon? WE should arrive at the hotel by 1:30 pm. thinking about booking the 4:30 tour on that same day.
Will it still be crowded at that time of the day?
How long should I plan to be there? LOVE history

Thank you all for this recommendation! Will definitely include on my list.
Does the tour include Dublin sights or just those areas pertaining to the political uprising?
Website does not include that information.
